The Make A Difference in the Philippines programme aims to help education for Philippino children. Working one child, one school at a time.
Over 30 million families in the Philippines live on less than £1 a day. Education is the best way to break the poverty cycle giving children the chance of a better brighter future.
But the government spends an average of only £100 a year per student on actual school supplies. 80% of the education budget goes on a huge bureaucracy.
Sending money out to the Philippines doesn’t always work. It may not be spent on educational supplies and it may be ‘lost’ in the system. Instead we work directly with the schools and give actual educational materials to the children who need them most.
