Get Power From Positive Affirmations
Positive affirmations have long been recognized as a powerful tool in manifesting desires. The earliest “New Age” books on positive thought borrowed from Eastern philosophies such as Buddhism and Yoga to teach about positive affirmations and meditations.
The subconscious mind cannot differentiate between actual reality and what you bring into your mind’s eye in thought, or suggestions.
Why do you get scared at a horror movie – it isn’t real- but physiologically you react as though it were; your heart beats faster and you sit on the edge of your seat - or hide behind a pillow!
So the sub-conscious will process suggestions (or affirmations) as being real, and it goes about using its powerful creative ability - and that of the nervous system - to actualize, or bring into reality, those affirmations.
Your sub-conscious does not like to be wrong.
Anthony Robbins, world renowned expert on motivational thinking, explained: "By repeating an affirmation over and over again, it becomes embedded in the subconscious mind, and eventually becomes your reality. That is why you need to be careful what you think and believe, because that is exactly what you will get!"

How to Bypass the Conscious Mind

What can restrict the effectiveness of positive affirmations is our own resistance to the message we are trying to imprint on our sub-conscious?
If I were fat and my affirmation was “I am slim and healthy”, and I repeated that to myself morning and evening I would have to get over – or through – my conscious thought of “No I’m not I’m fat” every time I looked in the mirror.
It can take a lot of repetition and a lot of discipline to do it over and over – for your sub-conscious to “get it” while the evidence to your conscious mind is something to the contrary.
In and of themselves, positive affirmations are a powerful tool for manifesting. But when you practice affirmations from a deep, meditative state you increase their manifesting power many-fold.
That's because meditation enables you to effortlessly bypass the conscious mind, and imprint affirmations into the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind, in turn, impinges upon the nervous system to bring about your desired results.
So for greater effectiveness positive affirmations should be practised while meditating.
That sounds simple but meditation as practised by Yogis etc takes a lot of, well, practice!
There is a particular technique and process to go through to get to a meditative state which requires time and a quiet peaceful place. It is not necessarily that easy.
Fortunately science can now lend a hand.
